Jonluke McKie
Illustration
Jonluke is an illustrator and visual artist based in North Shields, England.
His work is sketchy and organic, using pencil, ink, acrylic, mixed media and digital art techniques. He's interested in character design, portaits, LGBTQIA+ characters and figure drawing.
As well as undertaking graphic design and illustration commissions Jonluke is an experienced facilitator and community arts practitioner and regularly runs co-created arts projects.
Clients/commissioners include Glow Newcastle, Rural Arts, Alphabetti Theatre and Curious Monkey Theatre.

The brief: To develop communication,
leadership, listening up and speaking out with Y3 and Y4 pupils. the project grew organically and culminated in an illustrated film, co-created with the children.

The brief: To co-create an illustrated map with an intergenerational group of community members from Thirsk. Rather than landmarks and locations, the map will describe memories and stories, and reference additional artwork and poetry created by the group.

Alphabetti Theatre brochure design
The brief: To create two illustrations of the front and back of the theatre venue to form the front and back cover of the brochure, highlighting the diversity and lively spirit of the organisation.
Curious caravan
The brief: In 15 minute slots, participants come in, share a cuppa and a story while Jonluke speed-illustrates the conversation.
